Grades 03 and 04 find unusual areas leading to the study of Leonardo DaVinci's masterful shading of forms. Students work on drawing what they see, rather than what they know. Creating and shading simple shapes like cylinders and prisms is practiced. A final drawing is done of several shapes and shaded using stippling. A drawing process is introduced consisting of planning, laying out composition, light sketching, finalizing lines with ink, and cleaning up with an eraser.
